Live soccer Verstappen, Vandorn, Rovanpera and other champions receive trophies at FIA ceremony
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) held a traditional ceremony of awarding world champions.
This year the prizes were awarded in Bologna, Italy.
Max Verstappen won the F1 Championship Trophy for the second time in a row, while his Red Bull team won the Constructors` Championship for the first time since 2013. Milton Keynes team leader Christian Horner said he dedicates the success to Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who passed away this year. The FIA also presented prizes to vice-champion Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and third-place finisher Sergio Perez, Max`s partner.
Stoffel Vandorn celebrated the title in Formula E, Kalle Rovanpera - in the World Rally Championship (WRC), Brandon Hartley, Rio Hirakawa and Sebastian Buemi - in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), Felipe Drugovic and Victor Marten became the best in Formula2 and Formula 3, respectively. In addition, world rally-raid champion Nasser Al-Attiyah and five-time world rallycross champion Johan Kristoffersson received prizes.
Rookie of the Year was Zane Maloney, F-3 vice-champion who will spend next season in F-2, while Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won the Moment of the Year award for double overtaking at the F-1 British Grand Prix.
